First few weeks back
So with moving the blog and getting back into the swing of Uni, my blogs have been less frequent than usual. But don’t you worry. Pretty soon I won’t have a good excuse for them being late except that I am just behind. Which no matter how hard I try happens at least once every few months. Sometimes you just gotta embrace your inner procrastinator.
Anyway, last week was my first week of the 4th year of vet school. (for those of you in America, my third year of vet school). I can’t believe how fast the time has gone. I am so close to graduating I can almost feel it. Pretty soon I’m going to be in rotations and I will have to know what is going on…. On second thought, maybe I should study a bit more… Hopefully some of the things I have learned in the past few years will actually stay in my brain for final year and beyond. One can hope.
First week back is always interesting. You are bound to have some problem with the schedule, and technical difficulties are bound to happen at some point. And of course you’ll have classmates that take day 2 off because day 1 was too exhausting. You have to ease back into Uni. You can’t possibly jump right back in and expect us all to pay attention. Or can you? We are in our Farm course and Veterinary Public Health (VPH) course this semester. Which means we get to play with cows a lot. I am very excited to get to play with cows and interact with farmers again. We haven’t been out to the dairy for practicals for awhile now and I miss playing with all the cute cows. Even though they can be temperamental sometimes.
VPH is proving to be more interesting than I originally thought. Our professor definitely helps to make it more engaging. He is Italian with a great accent and sense of humour. He keeps us laughing through all the lectures which helps.
Just a quick rundown of what we are up against this semester. More details to come next week when we are really in the thick of things.
