Life changing

Something clicked in me when I went to Zanzibar. I went to work in a clinic there for 2 weeks and get some experience in a different culture and get surgical experience on their stray cat population. What I ended up getting was surgical experience and a confidence in myself that I wasn’t expecting. This was the first time that I actually felt that I could and would become a vet. Not just any vet, but a capable one. This could have happened to me anywhere, but Zanzibar happened to give me the confidence to move forward in my career without worrying if I’m good enough. I still have the fear of messing up from time to time, but don’t we all?

I then stayed for a bit after the clinic and did some SCUBA diving off this wonderful island. And I loved it. Would highly recommend Scubafish Zanzibar if you want to go diving or snorkelling on the island. Check out the video on my youtube channel for some idea of what it was like.
