International Veterinary Student Association is more commonly known and referred to as IVSA. This is a world-wide association that is present within many different vet schools throughout the world. The purpose is to encourage international networking between vet students and veterinary professionals. As a vet student I joined this association last year and have met many people due to this and had some great experiences.
As leaders within the group, we organise a yearly exchange with a university of our choosing. This year Edinburgh combined with IVSA Cluj-Napoca, Romania and Thessonaliki, Greece. We hosted them here with us in Edinburgh for a week! As part of this we show them the city and what Edinburgh has to offer. We show them the vet school and give them some experiences within the vet school from our professors.
They were here just a few weeks ago and we loved hosting them and showing them around our city and university. Check out the video below for a bit about what you can do if you come to Edinburgh!
Then next week, we will travel to one of these countries and experience the same thing with them in their country. I will be traveling to Romania and I canβt wait to see the city and the vet school there.
The best part of this program, is meeting vet students from other countries and learning about the differences in vet schools around the world. There are so many things to get involved in while attending vet school. Donβt let studying suck all your time away.
